Department of Texas sponsoring veterans career fair

The American Legion Department of Texas is sponsoring a career fair for veterans, active duty, National Guard, reservists and military spouses in conjunction with the department’s Mid-Winter Conference.

The event will take place Jan. 23 at the Omni Austin Hotel at Southpark, 4140 Governors Row, Austin, Texas. Admission is free for veterans, active duty, National Guard, reservists and military spouses.

Over 60 employers, including state agencies, are expected for the career fair, which is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Also on Jan. 23, the Department of Texas, Texas Veterans Commission and Texas Workforce Commission will conduct a veterans resume workshop covering topics including job fair etiquette, targeted resumes and interview tips. The 90-minute workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m., again at 10:30 a.m. and at 12:30 p.m.
